Meet the Loan Officers

Jeanne Boucher
Jeanne has 27 years of mortgage banking experience, and has been a NEFCU loan officer for ten years. Before joining NEFCU, she was an underwriting supervisor at VHFA. She has a great deal of experience helping first-time homebuyers, and works extensively with borrowers associated with the Champlain Housing Trust (CHT). Jeanne has been named the VHFA Top Producer for Chittenden County for 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007 and for Grand Isle County for 2006 & 2007.

A native of Highgate Center, Vermont, Jeanne likes working with buyers over time and developing relationships with members. She finds it very rewarding to see members come back after buying their first home, ready to move up. She particularly enjoys helping first-time homebuyers through the mortgage process. Some of her most rewarding transactions have involved helping people who thought they'd never be able to own a home, including newcomers to the United States. Jeanne speaks regularly to the Home Ownership Center about financing options. She previously served on the Board of Directors of CHT, and is currently on their loan committee.

Jason Pidgeon
A native Vermonter and graduate of UVM's School of Business Administration, Jason has been with NEFCU since 2001. He takes a very detailed approach to the mortgage process so that members can close their loan in a timely and efficient manner. His goal is to make homeownership possible for everyone and to exceed members' expectations. He enjoys working with investors, first time homebuyers, primary and second-home purchasers, and those refinancing their homes to pay off high interest credit cards and/or variable rate second mortgages.

Jason is an active member of the Vermont Mortgage Bankers Association and is currently working on his Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) designation from National Mortgage Bankers Association. The CMB is the designation for the Mortgage Banker's standard of professional success. In addition, Jason will have completed his National Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP) designation in early 2007. "I feel Continuing Education is important in this industry, to help demonstrate a level of respect, credibility, and dedication to the profession of Real Estate Finance."

Twyla Magnan
In a career with NEFCU spanning 27 years, Twyla has worked in all aspects of NEFCU operations. She has been a member of the Mortgage Department for 16 years, and has been a mortgage originator for the last six. The variety of positions that she has held at the Credit Union have given her a unique understanding of members' needs and the levels of service that they have come to expect.

Twyla is originally from Northfield, Massachusetts, and has been living in Vermont since 1978. She says she enjoys helping members select the mortgage that's best for them, be it conventional, fixed, adjustable, jumbo, construction or land. Twyla especially enjoys guiding first-time homebuyers through the mortgage process, and making the mortgage process easy. She is one of the top producing loan officers at NEFCU.

Carol McKinney
Carol's hometown is St. Albans, Vermont, which is at the heart of Franklin County. She has been in the lending and financial services business for over 30 years, a Mortgage Officer in Franklin County for 20 years, and with the St. Albans NEFCU Loan Center for the past six years. She has worked in many phases of mortgage lending, underwriting and servicing, and has a well-rounded understanding of the mortgage business. Carol has been named VHFA Top Producer for Franklin County for 2006, 2007 & 2008.

Carol enjoys working with people, and helping them with their mortgage needs. She has extensive, first-hand knowledge of the real-estate and lending market in Franklin County, and takes particular pride in helping people to purchase homes in and around her hometown.

Sarah Britton Cote
A creative and energetic approach is what Sarah brings to mortgage lending at NEFCU.   With two decades of mortgage experience, she understands the wide variety of financing options that are available. This helps her to determine the mortgage program that's best for each individual borrower. But first, she'll start by listening carefully to the borrower's needs and circumstances, whether they're a first-time homebuyer, or a seasoned homeowner looking to refinance or to purchase a second home.

Originally from upstate New York, Sarah has lived in Vermont for more than 20 years. Her experience includes mortgage origination, processing and underwriting. She was a top-producing loan officer at another local lender. Sarah joined NEFCU in 2001 as a senior underwriter and later became the mortgage operations supervisor. In 2005, she returned to mortgage origination, saying that she loves the customer contact and the satisfaction of helping borrowers achieve their goals.

Cherise Teeson
Cherise has been a mortgage officer at NEFCU for 21 years. She has a total of 25 years of experience in working on all stages of mortgage loans, such as processing, underwriting and origination, which helps her get a mortgage loan approved and closed quickly and efficiently. With her extensive experience comes the ability to explain programs and processes in a way that is straightforward and easy to understand.

A native Californian, Cherise has spent the last twenty-one years in Vermont, which she has found to be a great place to raise children and to own a home. She enjoys looking for ways to tailor mortgage programs to help the individual needs of each borrower. Cherise gets many referrals from members she has helped, which gives her a great deal of satisfaction. She says that a mortgage loan can be confusing when there are so many different products to choose from, so, she finds it very satisfying to fit a person with the one product that's best for them.
