Williston, VT—New England Federal Credit Union (NEFCU) will hold the second Shred Fest of 2014 on Saturday, July 19th, from 9 am to 1 pm at the Credit Union’s 141 Harvest Lane branch in Williston. All NEFCU Shred Fests are free and open to the public, with ample free parking.
Document destruction is one of the most effective ways to protect against unauthorized access to personal data. By destroying documents with sensitive personal information, NEFCU Shred Fests help prevent identity theft. Participants can watch on a video monitor as their documents are shredded by SecurShred, a local documents-shredding company.
Paper is not the only repository of personal data. Today, most people have financial and private information on computers. Just deleting and erasing such data may not put it beyond the reach of skilled and determined identity thieves. SecurShred’s “HD Hammer” will be on hand at this NEFCU Shred Fest to crush hard drives.
Shred Fest is intended for individuals only, with a limit of five boxes of documents per person. Due to the volume of shredding, businesses’ documents cannot be accepted.
