The Consumer Loan Processor supports the consumer loan originator function and will be responsible for consumer loan applications to ensure timely processing and closing of loans.  This support includes processing, preparing, closing, funding of consumer loans for the branch and performing post-closing quality control review of closed consumer loan files.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Responsible for timely and accurate processing, closing and disbursing of consumer loans utilizing current consumer loan software, Credit Union loan policies and procedures.  
  • Ensures all consumer loan files are originated, processed and closed in conformance with established business process by utilizing a formal post-closing review process.
  • Acts as a resource to branch staff on all processing and closing procedures.
  • Trains branch staff on pertinent aspects of the closing and funding procedures.
  • Participates in NEFCU’s - Member Relationship Development, a program that assists in detecting member’s unidentified financial needs.
  • Supports Credit Administration with timely review of residential property appraisals as necessary and back-up post-closing review of consumer real estate loans.
  • May originate overflow consumer loan applications or may obtain lending authority on a graduated basis.

Reporting to the Chief Lending Officer, the VP of Consumer Lending develops, implements, and oversees the credit union's consumer lending programs, processes and teams, including direct and indirect lending.   The Vice President of Consumer Lending is responsible for the growth of the Credit Union's consumer loan portfolio by creating a frictionless member experience and through delivery of operational excellence in all facets of the loan origination cycle.

 

Duties include:

  • Provides leadership and strategic direction to all areas of responsibility including origination, processing, underwriting, and closing/funding.  Works collaboratively with managers, supervisors, and staff involved in the origination, fulfillment and servicing of consumer loans, to ensure accurate, responsive, and timely review, processing, underwriting, funding, and reporting of loans.  
  • Works with staff to maximize service levels by reducing or eliminating unnecessary processes and documentation, while enhancing communications and timely follow through.  
  • Ensures staff is educated, trained and actively participating in NEFCU Member Relationship Development Program.  Drives success of program by nurturing environment of coaching, mentoring and holding staff accountable to goals.
  • Drives success of ancillary insurance products by working with managers & training resources to educate, measure, and reward staff for appropriate sales and use of these products.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related/relevant field

Role:

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and measures sales and service performance standards; to ensure that branch performance improvement initiatives are implemented and managed effectively.
  • Manages measurement of sales volume and service quality including branch and management reporting.
  • Makes presentations to Branch personnel and Senior Management for proposals and implementing new programs

  • Investigate suspicious activity and prepare SAR reports for filing with regulatory agencies. Prepares CTR reports and monitors cash sales of monetary instrument reports.

  • Reviews fraud and AML alerts, reports and referrals for unconventional customer behavior. Determines appropriate actions to be taken to control potential losses and maintain compliance with BSA/AML regulatory reporting requirements.

  • Ensure the integrity of the Verafin BSA/AML system (data, thresholds, behavioral parameters) for all Remote Banking Alerts, New Account Fraud, and written procedures are an accurate reflection of NEFCU processes.

  • Assist with investigations and maintain support documentation for SAR case management
